 	 	7 killed, over 100 hurt in nor'wester
5,500 houses damaged
BDNEWS, Dhaka

At least seven people were killed and over 100 others injured, including women and children, as a nor'wester lashed over different parts of the country yesterday. 
Hundreds of houses and trees as well as standing crops were damaged by the tropical storms. Many parts of the country also experienced a downpour. 
Electricity supplies and telecommunications were snapped in many areas. 
In Natore, at least five people were killed when the nor'wester lashed over 50 villages, razing hundreds of houses, damaging crops and uprooting trees in the afternoon. 
Four people were killed in Kholabaria Laksmipur village and one Diar Kazipur. Their identities could not immediately be known. 
Villagers said the nor'wester damaged around 5,000 houses, leaving many villagers injured. 
In Manikganj, an unidentified woman was killed and several people were injured as the nor'wester hit Daulatdia, Manikganj sadar and Ghior upazilas in the evening. 
Besides, the nor'wester damaged more than 500 houses. Waterways in the district remained suspended for about half an hour. 
Reports from Pabna said one person was killed and over 50 were injured as the nor'wester lashed over 15 villages in Chatmohor, Bhangura and Faridpur upazilas at about 7:00pm. 
Locals said Kasiruddin, 44, of Faridpur upazila was killed in a thunderbolt during the storm.
